Repaint:  Angels' Playmate and Angels' Playmate_early   (military)

P-51D-20-NA, 44-63497, FT-I "Angels' Playmate" was flown by Lt. Bruce W. Carr. 353rd FS, 354th FG, 9th AF. In WWII, he
achieved 15 confirmed aircraft shoot downs & destroyed 10 ground aircraft, awarded the Distinguished Service Cross medal,
Silver Star medal, and a Distinguished Flying Cross medal. His Ace-in-a-day mission on 2 Apr 1945 earned him the DSC medal
in which his flight of four Mustangs engaged an enemy flight of more than sixty Bf109's and Fw190's!

After V-E day, he is also known for his mischievous antic of acquiring a Fw190 from a german airfield near Linz, Austria and
flying it back to base in Ansbach, Germany.  Unfortunately, the Fw190 was severly damaged on landing because the
landing gear could not be extended due to pilot unfamiliarity with the aircraft controls.

After WWII, Lt. Carr continued combat missions in F-86's and F-100's during Korean and Vietnam conflicts,
earning three additional Distinguished Flying Cross medals, a Legion of Merit medal, and retired as Colonel Carr.

Extraordinary heroism, gallantry in action, and superlative combat flying ability, he ranks amongst the highest echelon of
 USA fighter pilots.

 Angels' Playmate early  (military)

The early version of Lt. Bruce Carr's Angels' Playmate was on P-51D-5-NA, 44-13693.  It flew mostly in 1944
and early 1945.  The calligraphy style of the early Angels' Playmate P-51D was slightly different from the later
version of Angels' Playmate on P-51D-20-NA, 44-63497.  Parked side by side, we can see the subtle changes in
the letters. Black triangular sawtooth pattern was also on the yellow nose trim most of 1944.
